Today's corporations and WLAN service providers recognize the
importance to provide secure mobile network services to their staffs or
customers to build differentiation, increase productivity and foster
competitive advantage. The 4ipnet Secure WLAN Controller series (WHG-series)
is built to scale network management capabilities for your WLAN
deployments of all sizes - in enterprises, institutes, or hotspots - to
provide centralized WLAN management and comprehensive secure network
protection.
The WHG-series integrates "secure access control", "seamless mobility", "visitor account provisioning", "flexible accounting and billing", and "centralized WLAN management" into
one box to provide a unified, high performance solution for converged
data and voice applications. Following 802.11 b/g standards, the
WHG-series Controllers are capable of managing from 12 to 150 access
points centrally to cover different scales of WLAN deployments.

Features and Benefits:
Excellent Compatibility with Existing Network
No
restructuring of existing network is required. 4ipnet's WLAN Solution
is optimized to support 802.11 b/g standards and can be easily deployed
as an overlay, leveraging existing infrastructure to preserve time and
money on IT investments.
Secure Wired/Wireless Connections
The
Controllers provide excellent, well thought-out wireless LAN protection
that integrates with your existing security devices to satisfy all your
network needs. Support standard-based data encryption such as WEP, WPA,
WPA2, 802.1X, and IPSec VPN. No additional installation of client
software or difficult configuration is required to setup IPSec VPN
tunnels. Other features include built-in DoS protection and flexible
firewall rules to prevent malicious hackers from collapsing the network.
Multiple Authentication Methods
The
Controllers support multiple authentication methods. Built-in local and
on-demand database can act as a standalone authentication server. In
addition, they support external authentication servers such as RADIUS,
POP3, LDAP, Windows Active Directory, and SIP registrar. Each
Controller not only works as a standalone gateway for a single WLAN,
but also supports cross-location roaming for larger deployments, such
as in chain stores, with a backend authentication server like RADIUS.

Centralized Access Point Management
Offer
centralized remote control and monitoring of managed APs via web-based
administration interface, including AP's system settings, online
status, enabling/disabling, reset, and firmware upgrade. Periodically
monitors APs and notifies the administrator when APs disconnect.
Seamless Secure Mobility
Account roaming and AP roaming provides unlimited freedom of
connectivity for mobile users and devices to securely access Internet
or enterprise network.
Resilient Identity-based Access Control and User Management
Role-based
access control and policy enforcement offer management of privileges
for different user groups. Service Zone function partitions a physical
network into multiple virtual networks, each with its own definable
access control and group policy profiles. Allow hotspot owners to
provide customized services for different levels of users. Individual
user bandwidth, session, and login schedule management enables flexible
traffic control and fair network resource utilization.
Instant & Managed Guest Access
For
corporations, the Controllers can instantly generate secure, manageable
guest accounts for visitors. The Controllers also support IP Plug and
Play (IP PnP) function so visitors can connect to the corporate WLAN
without changing their TCP/IP settings when they use Static IP.
Account Provisioning and Flexible Billing
To
fulfill the needs of hotspot business operation, the Controllers are
equipped with instant account generation and flexible billing
capabilities. The instant account generation feature allows hotspot
operators to generate one-time accounts for coming customers. The
built-in billing profiles enable operators to charge different rates
based on connection time and data volume. Customers can obtain and pay
for Internet service online using their credit cards through
Authorize.net or PayPal.
Support for VoIP
By
acting as a SIP Proxy, the WHG-series Controllers can support VoIP
calls, without the need to reconfigure VoIP devices such as SIP-based
WiFi handsets. To ensure quality of service (QoS), the Controllers can
further assign high-level of bandwidth utilization for voice and video
packets. For call control, they can be set to only redirect SIP call
requests to up to 4 trusted SIP Registrars. |
